Well here we are (again). A shiny new website with a slightly confusing name – it must be a Lydia thing.

That’s a fairly broad question, would you like to narrow it down a bit?
~ Ok, let’s start with the name. What is ‘the optimistic meal’?
Breakfast, breakfast is the optimistic meal. The day is ahead of you.
~ What?
Have you ever heard of a show called Patriot?
~ The Mel Gibson film?
No the TV show. It was on a couple of years ago. There’s a scene where two characters are talking, they’ve got an antagonistic relationship, and one of them reaches out to the other to try to make things better.
~ And?
And he invites him for a breakfast. Maybe they’ll go crazy, a whole spread, muffins, breakfast breads, etc.
~ Ok…

Cool. Anyway, we watched the show last night, and it appealed to me as a concept, or a metaphor, or whatever, for this site.
~ And what is this site?
Oh right, yeah. This is somewhere for me to share some thoughts, talk about stuff that interest me, and to play around with WordPress stuff.
~ So it’s a blog?
I guess, partly.
~ Why not just say that?
It’s 2024, no-one blogs anymore, that’s so 2015. Get with the programme daddio.
